3-Easy Steps to Super Defined Curls

I have been getting a lot of questions about my curly hair routine since I’ve become an ambassador for KEVIN.MURPHY and people are curious to know what the difference has been in my routine. With all the questions going around, I have decided to do a blog post detailing my newest curly hair routine for super defined soft curls. Continue reading below to discover all 3 steps I used to achieve this super defined curly haired look with a floral crown.

Step One: Cleanse and Restore

The first thing I do is make sure to purify and cleanse my hair from any and all build up. I know a lot of curly gals swear by the no-poo method, and I too notice when I use harsh cleansers my hair is completely stripped. However, when I use RE.STORE, a repairing cleansing treatment by KEVIN.MURPHY called, my hair is left hair feeling stronger, replenished and full of life.

Step Two: Smooth the Hair Shaft

After RE.STORE, I go in with SMOOTH.AGAIN.RINSE, which is a smoothing conditioner specifically designed for thick coarse hair like mine. What I noticed is that after I used this my curls were clumped and smoothed together.

Step Three: Detangle and Define

The final step was defining and detangling my strands. For this, I started with MOTION.LOTION which is a curl enhancing lotion. What I noticed is this was very moisturizing and helpful in detangling any knots in my strands and really helping each curl to be separately defined. I then finished off my look with KILLER.CURLS; a curl defining cream that added much more definition and moisture to my strands. Lastly, to ensure frizz was at bay, I used EASY.RIDER all over the most frizz prone areas of my hair like the front edges of my hair and a the ends.

I let my hair air dry, and once it was dried, I finished the look with a beautiful floral crown!

I hope you enjoyed my hair care routine and the 3 steps I take to keep my “doo” looking healthy and defined.
